Usage dashboard

Learn how to visualize and optimize your data pipelines and volumes

To see your usage stats, you need to select the Usage dashboard item in the menu on the left side of the screen.

The Usage dashboard page contains three main blocks:

  • Page Header
  • Numerical Indicators
  • Chart

Let's look at each of them in more detail.

Page Header

The page header includes the the following elements:

  • Billing period field

It is a drop-down list containing time intervals determined by your contract. Each billing period has a 1 to 1 relationship to a specific contract.

  • Export a full report button

You can export your usage data to CSV by clicking the Export a full report button. Improvado generates a CSV file with full data from the backend view.

The CSV file contains the following columns:

  • Global extraction template name
  • Updated rows - these rows existed in the database at the time of extraction, and were updated following most recent extraction
  • Deleted rows - these rows existed in the database at the time of extraction, but they had to be removed because, following most recent extraction, they no longer exist
  • Inserted rows - these rows didn’t exist in the database and were added following most recent extraction
  • Data source name in the database
  • Date

Numerical Indicators

Here you can see the following numerical Indicators:

  • Extracted rows number for this billing period. You can find the percentage of usage for billing period usage below.
  • Total rows number by contract
  • Average daily extracted rows number for last 7 days

These values are abbreviated as follows:

  • <1000 →value (example: 760)
  • >1000 & <999,999 → value K (example: 12.02K)
  • >999,999 → value MM (example: 12.41MM)

Chart

This block contains Daily/Weekly/Monthly chart with summary values. You can switch between charts using the Day/Week/Month buttons in the upper right corner of the chart.

Columns show value per chosen period with the same abbreviation as described above.

Note: If columns are too narrow, they won’t show extracted rows number.

Hover over a column to see a tooltip containing the following information:

  • Date
  • ~Daily Chart - full date (example: Jun 27, 2021)
  • ~Weekly Chart - each Monday, full date (example: Jun 14, 2021)
  • ~Monthly Chart - month + year (example: Jun, 2021)
  • Extracted rows number (without rounding up and abbreviation)
